I thought I was Trapped

At college I was very interested in a very beautiful girl, but fate had other ideas for me. I went to a party and got lucky with another girl, she fancied me and I took advantage. She got pregnant and so I married her. The girl I fancied married another guy I knew. He and I ended up working at the same place, he was older than me and was senior to me at work. He was earning a lot more than I was, but I was doing okay, my wife had given me two children by that time. We were getting by pretty well, my wife never asked for anything we couldn't afford. I found out how lucky I was to have married her. The girl I'd fancied was a demanding woman, wanted everything now not later. Her husband was struggling financially even those he was on better wages than me. I finally realized I'd missed a bullet as they say, I now believe my wife is the perfect woman for me and how lucky I was to have married her, she hadn't trapped me, she had saved me.
