Offer Accepted

Widowed losing my wife in March 2023 and having a then 2-year daughter to care for, no close family to assist. One positive was I've a great paying job with great career prospects. Getting a promotion in earlier 2024. Only change was a new work location, which was actually closer to my home than the previous location. It was there I met my now wife, she like me was widowed she had a boy 5 and a daughter 3. But she was struggling with just about everything in her life at the time. I'd my own home she rented, and I was on a lot better wage than her. Neither of us dated and as time passed, she found out more about me. At the company Christmas party for staff and their families we met each other's children. As our daughters got on very well, they started to see each other regularly. Finally, she asked me straight out, if I was interested in joining our families together. She didn't expect me to marry her, just hoped to ease her housing burden as they say. Offering to clean, cook and our washing for a stable place to live and maybe even some sex. I liked her a lot and said I would think it over, which I did fairly quickly two days later I proposed. Stating it gave her a stronger attachment to us living together. She was shocked at first and as she liked me also, hence her offering her living together proposal. She accepted and we married within the week (April), just small family wedding. Her son was happy he got his own room, our daughters shared theirs. Only other change was I made her my assistant, which allows her to see the children to school and daycare before coming into the office and likewise picking them up afterwards. I could handle the work with her out of the office. One thing we hadn't counted on, was her getting pregnant as quickly as she did (July). We're quite happy adding to our combined family and are changing our address, bought a new larger house closer to our work.
